MakerBot Industries is a company that produces and sells 3D printers.  3D printers are very cool and interesting in which you can make objects just by a little machine.  MakerBot started by making shot glasses as their first product and they did that for a while.  They started to sell their own kits and the kits eventually required little work.  Over the years, MakerBot upgraded their printers to print bigger and better objects.  Their latest printer is called the MakerBot Replicator Z18, which can create objects up to 2,592 cubic inches.  This printer is priced for 6,500 dollars on their website.  Here is a picture of the printer:
